Research

JAPAN - September, 2016 In Tomakomai and Teshio Experimental Forests on Japan’s northernmost island Hokkaido scientists are studying the effects of climate change on the forests. ‘Research into the forest floor is relatively scarce’, Dr Hiura, Researcher at the University of Sapporo, tells us. That is crazy, because the processes on the forest floor play a key role in the carbon cycle: the take-up and release of CO2 by plants and trees.
